The farm where the vineyard is established was bought in 1910 by Grandfather Oscar Reichstein as the first block at auction of the Wirrabara Estate (Station).

MARKETING

A large portion of the grapes are contracted to "Peter Lehmann Wines" with a small area of new planting not committed at this stage.

All wines are hand pruned and grapes for "Remarkable View Vines" are hand picked and processed at various wineries and winemakers.

We produce only red grapes, but will source white grapes for a white wine to extend tasting and sales.

Each block of vines developed was named with a family connection.

  • Block 1. "Reichstein" after Malcolm’s grandfather who was the original landowner.
  • Block 2." Kirkcaldy" – the county in Scotland where the Orrock’s originated.
  • Block 3 "Karmal" - was the families chestnut horse that was a prolific prize winner at many different phases in equestrian events, hacking, novelties, showjumping, endurance riding and actually won a Point to Point.
  • Block 4 "Broadacres" named after Karen’s family original property at Willowie.
